The mission of Heritage Hall is to empower a strong community of learners and enable students to meet high academic standards. We also encourage our students to become responsible and successful young citizens. We recognize that each child is an individual with his/her own learning style and strengths. Therefore, we strive to cater to individual needs through our unique small classroom environment. Through a student-centered teaching/learning relationship, we target learning differences and build on academic and creative strengths.  As teachers, we emphasize the social, emotional, and intellectual enrichment of each individual student.

Home Away From Home

Heritage Hall is a home away from home for our students. Students across all grades are a close-knit group. Together they take fields trips, celebrate holidays and special events, learn and study as a group, and ultimately graduate together. Heritage Hall is unique in that younger and older students spend significant time together and cultivate relationships that can thrive in a small private school environment.

Our unique school program was first established in France in 1976 by Ms. Jannik Jones, an educator. After moving to the United States, Ms. Jones established Heritage Hall's North Carolina location in 1980. Ms. Jones quickly accelerated our school’s growth, attracting hundreds of students and parents looking for a more personalized approach in their education. Ms. Jones served as Heritage Hall's principal for 30 years, retiring in 2013 from an incredible career devoted to Heritage Hall's students. Today, we at Heritage Hall are proud to carry on her legacy and continue her work of providing individualized, quality education to K-12 students.
